These Terms govern your use of Beyond Stories — the website, the browser app at /play/, and the iOS and Android apps (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is designed for young children but the account belongs to an adult. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and you must be the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses the Service through your account, or have their guardian's permission. You are responsible for supervising that use.
Beyond Stories generates an illustrated, narrated story that advances when a picture is tapped. Worlds are written by us and rotate over time. Worlds, features and limits may change, be added, or be removed at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular world, story or saved session will remain available.
Keep your sign-in credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at the address below if you think someone else has access. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
Stars are a limited, revocable licence to use features of the Service. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and are not refundable except where the law requires. Free stars are granted on sign-up and periodically thereafter, subject to limits shown in the app and to anti-abuse checks that may withhold them. Paid star packs are sold through Stripe on the web and through the App Store or Google Play on mobile; those platforms handle the payment and their refund rules and your statutory consumer rights apply. Every purchase entry point sits behind a gate intended to prevent a young child buying anything unsupervised — but you remain responsible for purchases made on your account, so use your platform's device-level purchase controls as well.
Stories, pictures, narration and songs are generated automatically. We constrain them with a written safety charter, hand-authored worlds, an automatic filter applied before anything is shown or read aloud, and the complete absence of any free-text input. Even so, automatically generated content can be unexpected, inconsistent or wrong, and we cannot guarantee that every line will suit every child. Adult supervision is recommended, and we make no warranty that output is fit for any particular purpose.
You agree not to exploit bugs, automate or script the Service, reverse-engineer or scrape it, circumvent star limits, purchase gates or anti-abuse measures, attempt unauthorised access to our systems or another user's data, or use the Service unlawfully. We may investigate and take action, including suspension or termination.
Beyond Stories, its name, artwork, worlds, software and branding belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for private, non-commercial entertainment. You may keep and share the stories generated for your own family's use; you do not acquire ownership of the worlds, the software, or the underlying technology.
Sign-in, payments, hosting and AI generation involve third parties, including Google, Apple, Facebook, Stripe, RevenueCat and our AI providers. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS RIGHTS YOU HAVE UNDER MANDATORY CONSUMER LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), WHERE SUCH A LIMIT IS PERMITTED BY LAW.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms, for legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that should survive by their nature — disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms — survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Beyond Stories, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections where you live require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction where local law does not require otherwise.
We may update these Terms. Updates appear on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be signalled in the app where practical. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance, where the law allows.
